| Report: | Milford 2 edged a very close match against a strong David Lloyd Poole side 3–2, with some excellent squash and rather more drama than the home captain had ordered.
Unfortunately, Joe was injured in the opening game and had to retire, giving Nick the first rubber and putting Milford’s medical supplies under early pressure. James recovered from losing his first game to beat Will 3–1, while Andrew produced a very efficient 3–0 win against Damian. Ian came from behind to beat Michelle 3–1, having apparently decided that losing the opening game made things more interesting.
In the final rubber, Simon took the first two games against Tom before Tom fought back strongly to level the match. Sadly, Simon was then injured and had to retire in the fifth, meaning Milford’s treatment table received as much action as the courts!
Despite the injuries, it was a an enjoyable evening played in great spirit, and we're hoping the return fixture requires fewer ice packs. |
